WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

This role sees you working as part of our small highly agile development team. We work closely with the latest technologies and most progressive broadcasters. We are currently pushing the perceived boundaries of Node.js and Rust using it to process Gbps of live streaming data.

We are looking for developers who are extremely self-motivated, take pride in managing their own personal deadlines and thrive on solving challenges across the full product lifecycle.

The Role

  • Develop features for our next-generation media transport/processing/monitoring software
  • Maintain our existing internal and production software products
  • Participate in team prioritisation and organisation daily, often changing priorities at short notice
  • Use Node.JS and Rust every day, sometimes having the opportunity to use C++/Swift/Python
  • Review other team members' changes as a part of our small (5 person) agile development team
  • Work with some of the world's major broadcasters contributing to business-critical live broadcast paths

Requirements

  • Node.js (JS/TS) skills
  • Basic knowledge of Rust
  • Experience of source control and collaboration through Git
  • Basic experience with Linux (CentOS / Ubuntu)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK

Any of the following is a bonus

  • Flexibility to adapt to new techniques and languages at short notice
  • Knowledge of networking, UDP, RTP, Multicast, Unicast
  • Knowledge of real-time media transport e.g. Transport Streams
  • Frontend knowledge (HTML, CSS, UX)
  • Experience with other languages such as C++, PHP, Swift, Bash/shell scripting, etc.

Benefits

  • Unrestricted opportunity for advancement at any time based on individual contribution
  • Contributory pension scheme, matching pension contributions up to 5%
  • Free parking at our Bracknell office
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Flexible working environment

This is a great opportunity for a motivated developer to go beyond a traditional software development role and get involved in end-to-end systems from inception to customer support.
