Our client is an established and well-respected manufacturing company. Currently recruiting a Trainee Design Engineer, to drive innovation and improvements through the development of new and existing engineering products. This is a full-time, permanent position, based on site at our client’s North Yorkshire office.

- As a Trainee Research and Development engineer you will trained to translate technical specifications into technical designs and products. - You will apply principles of mechanics, design, material science, and other engineering disciplines to develop new products, improve existing products, and solve engineering You will be able to create innovative and robust mechanical solutions, design components for manufacture, design test regimes to validate the product, document design decisions, etc. - This role involves conducting research, analysing data, designing and testing prototypes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions. - During the development cycle, you will document to a high level the design decisions taken and any - Producing detailed and accurate documentation to clearly outline product design and development steps, technical test and data sheets, R&D documentation, and user manuals of a technical and non-technical nature.

- CAD skills and experience, ideally SolidWorks, with an interest in designing mechanical or electrical solutions. - Be an effective communicator who is comfortable liaising with internal and external customers to better understand their ‘pain points’ and identify best fit solution. - With strong Microsoft skills, able to create detailed and presentable customer-facing technical documentation.

The Trainee Design Engineer position is offering £26,000 – £30,000 basic salary plus great benefits. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm based at our client’s North Yorkshire office.
