Our client is an established Accountancy Firm based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting a Assistant Accountant to join their technical team. This position offers great training and development opportunities for the successful candidate. This is a very varied and interesting role in a friendly established firm of Chartered Accountants. Our client supports a broad range of UK services and industries, providing great development and exposed to a wide variety of accounting areas.
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for providing clients with an all-round accounting and tax service, including audits, tax computations and tax returns, VAT returns, CIS returns, etc.
Assistant Accountant – Objective
This is a position requiring a motivated individual, capable of working without direct supervision and handling the pressure of working to deadlines. General duties will include all aspects of providing the Firm’s clients with a comprehensive accountancy service and liaising with the Partners and work colleagues. Responsibilities include:
• Preparing accounts and tax computations for SMEs.
• Planning and controlling assignments.
• Preparing clients’ records and VAT returns.
Assistant Accountant – Skills & Experience Required
• Technically focused and highly organised professional, with a proven track record gained within practice.
• Qualified AAT or qualified by experience.
• Experience using Xero and QuickBooks is desirable.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to multitask and prioritise workload whilst demonstrating excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
• Be quality focused with excellent attention to detail.
The Assistant Accountant position is offering a competitive basic salary based on skills and experience, with excellent benefits including 25 days holiday + statutory and private medical insurance. Further training and development opportunities on offer for the successful candidate. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid position working 1 day per week at our client’s office in Harrogate.
