Our client is an established health and safety consultancy business based in Harrogate. Due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting a Health and Safety Consultant / Lead to join their business to be based in the North Yorkshire or East Yorkshire area. Our client specialises in health and safety management, bridging the gap between health, safety and engineering within the manufacturing and construction sectors.
Health and Safety Consultant / Lead – Key Responsibilities:
- Providing advanced and specialist guidance, and expert advice to manufacturing and construction clients on their legal and regulatory duties.
- Lead and conduct site inspections and site audits, ensuring all finalised reports exceed client expectations.
- Leading the development of action plans ensuring that all recommendations are practicable and consider holistic viewpoints.
- Nurture relationships with clients and employees, acting as a single point of contact to ensure sustainability.
- Guide the authoring and development of intricate and detailed documentation that always surpasses our client’s customers needs.
- Take ownership and lead the implementation of management systems both internally and for client’s customers.
- Manage the delivery of health and safety related training.
- Overshadow completion of hazard identifications, risk assessments and associated documentation on sites throughout the UK.
- Expert auditor and highly knowledgeable in industry standards i.e. ISO45001.
- Be able to autonomously manage a CDM site to the highest standard.
- Lead investigations ensuring any improvement actions are practicable and deliver compliance for our client’s customer.
Health and Safety Consultant / Lead – Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Chartered or Graduate member of IOSH.
- Qualified lead auditor highly desirable.
- Excellent computer literacy and ability to use MS office independently.
- Ability to manage a team and own workload efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- Proactive in seeking out opportunities for self-development and team development inside the business.
- Ability to nurture effective working relationships and act as a responsible and reliable point of contact for our clients.
- NEBOSH Fire Risk Assessment or/and NEBOSH Environmental Management highly desirable.
The Health and Safety Consultant / Lead position is offering Circa. £40,000 – £50,000 basic salary plus Car Allowance and great benefits for the successful candidate. Working Monday- Friday 8.30am until 5pm with flexibility.
