Our client is a leading software business based in West Yorkshire. Due to continued growth, they are currently recruiting an Application Support Specialist to join their established IT Availability team. The position will work hybrid, offering flexibility to work from home 3-4 days per week.

The IT Availability team are responsible for the 24×7 operation and support of our client’s application portfolio. The successful Application Support Specialist will have technical problem solving abilities with a wide array of technical competencies to effectively support the application environment. The Application Support Specialist will work closely with support and development teams to ensure the successful delivery of our client’s suite of products.
Application Support Specialist – Key Accountabilities:
• Perform day-to-day monitoring and support for our client’s commercial applications.
• Create scripts, applets and web tools to assist with monitoring, response, and availability recovery efforts.
• Receive, review, triage, escalate and where possible resolve a daily flow of incoming application support tickets.
• Execute scheduled/unscheduled commercial software deployments according to requirements.
• Create Technical Documentation for hosted applications to be used internally.
Application Support Specialist – Skills & Experience:
• Application support skills or/and 3rd Line software support experience
• SQL understanding and skills in database technologies (Microsoft / Oracle)
• Ability to debug application logs and error messages for troubleshooting purposes.
• Experience executing small projects to make improvements and provide support for larger projects as required.
• Experience managing application configuration, user accounts and application support documentation.
• Attention to detail with an appreciation of change control.
The Application Support Specialist position is offering a £30,000 – £35,000 basic salary plus excellent benefits including 25 days holiday + statutory and hybrid working.
