Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor

Offering circa. £45,000 Basic Salary plus Car Allowance for the successful candidate.

Location: Durham

Our client is an established UK Haulage Specialist, currently recruiting a Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor to provide a HSE advisory support service across all UK operations.

Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor – Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote health and safety in the workplace.
  • Identify and help develop site / depot safety objectives and the measurement of these objectives.
  • Carry out safety audits and inspections.
  • Ensure statutory and legal registers are kept up to date.
  • Help ensure all personnel carry out work activities in line with site / depot requirements (e.g. site rules, requirements, expectations and encourage proactive hazard, near miss observation reporting)
  • Collating HSE safety data, identifying trends and reporting accordingly.
  • Supervise and review the implementation of the HSE policies in line with ISO Standards And accreditation.
  • Identify HSE training and development needs.
  • Carry out new starter HSE inductions.
  • Liaise with Managers, customers, clients and any relevant bodies with regards to HSE related matters.
  • Support the investigation of accidents and incidents.
  • Compile and distribute accident alerts and shared learning.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions/toolbox talks on HSE related topics.
  • Be seen as the subject matter expert on all HSE related topics.

Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor – Skills, Knowledge & Training

  • Strong Health & Safety exposure, ideally within transport, heavy industrial, manufacturing or construction industry.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Experience in developing, implementing and monitoring proactive health and safety solutions and behavioural safety techniques.
  • Demonstrating relevant operational awareness and experience with the ability to deliver professional presentations and communicate on all levels.
  • Knowledge of environmental and/or quality management would be beneficial.
  • Self-starter, able to operate with minimum supervision.

The Regional Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor position is offering circa. £45,000 Basic Salary plus Car Allowance for the successful candidate. This is a full-time, permanent position, based at our clients site in Durham with regular travel throughout the UK to attend depots and customer sites.
