CLOSED | Operations Manager

Our client is an established heavy industrial production facility based in the Glamorgan area. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join the senior management team. Reporting directly to the Operations Director.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the site team to deliver operational activities to the highest standards of health, safety, and environment compliance.

Operations Manager – Key Responsibilities:

  • Head weekly operations meetings. Lead and effectively manage 7 direct reports and additional contractors, ensuring they are motivated and focused.
  • Demonstrate competence in operating, managing, monitoring, maintaining, and improving facility.
  • Be responsible for exceeding operation and financial targets for site. Achieving production targets within production costing and budgets.
  • Understand and analyse data and statistics to improve efficiency and identify issues.
  • Monitor the running of the plant and the quality of the product. Coordinate site maintenance and engineering teams to ensure the health and safety of machinery and facility are always maintained. Ensuring daily zone safety checks are completed.
  • Co-ordinate preventative maintenance activities to maximise plant availability.
  • Minimise downtime and maintain production targets through continuous monitoring.

Operations Manager – Requirements:

  • Experience gained within a fast-paced heavy industrial production environment.
  • Proven track record of leading, motivating and inspiring a small team of skilled employees and contractors. Able to develop and complete employee personal development plans.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Self-driven and able to prioritise own workload to ensure tasks are completed and deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
