As a Senior Consultant, you will play a key role in ensuring our clients’ systems meet the highest quality standards, moving beyond functional testing into the critical realm of operational resilience.
You will be hands-on and highly experienced in leading teams, setting priorities, and building rapport with key stakeholders. This role is specifically designed for a technical leader who can bridge the gap between traditional testing and infrastructure operations.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT): Lead and execute OAT workstreams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and operationally ready.
- Monitoring and Observability: Utilise Microsoft SCOM to design and verify infrastructure monitoring, ensuring proactive service health visibility.
- Automation: Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate test execution, environment setup, and reporting metrics.
- Functional Testing: Oversee system, system integration and end-to-end.
- Test Documentation: Establish comprehensive test plans and reporting that balance quality risk mitigation with project constraints.
- Defect and Risk Management: Identify, raise, and manage quality system defects while proactively escalating project risks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work confidently with client stakeholders and third parties to ensure quality outcomes and smooth transitions into BAU environments.
What We’re Looking For
- Security Clearance: You must currently hold, or be fully eligible for, UK Security Clearance (SC).
- Location and Travel: You must be willing to work on-site in Salisbury a couple of days a week, typically including one overnight stay.
- Experience: You should have 5 to 7 years’ experience across system, system integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in Microsoft SCOM and PowerShell scripting is essential for this role.
- Leadership: You have a proven ability to lead small teams and establish a continuous improvement culture.
- Methodology: You are comfortable working in Agile delivery environments.
- Consultancy Background: Previous experience in consultancy roles is highly desirable.
