Volunteers needed for the cafe and hospice catering department. Responsibilities include providing friendly service, food preparation, cash handling, and kitchen duties. Training and support provided.

Are you looking to use or gain customer service skills, confidence and meet new people, in a friendly and exciting environment? This could be for you! We have a Café in The Pad in Stalybridge, where many customers are welcomed on a daily basis. We are also looking for volunteers in our busy Hospice catering department where you’ll be helping to provide an efficient and friendly service to customers, staff, volunteers and our patients. We will provide training and ongoing support throughout your journey with us to make sure you are happy in your volunteer role.

The Pad Cafe Provide a pleasant and friendly service to customers Be an active member within a team of staff and volunteers, showing empathy, support and good communication skills Preparation and cooking (sandwiches, breakfasts, jacket potatoes, salads toasted items etc) Making and serving hot and cold drinks Taking orders, using a cash register, card machine and end of day cashing up Serving food and drinks to tables Washing dishes, load and unload the dishwasher, clearing and cleaning tables Placing orders and shopping for food as and when needed Cleaning and tidying of kitchen and cafe area Maintaining and adhering to all [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] policies and guidelines, including confidentiality, food hygiene standards and health & safety, and complete records To undertake relevant training when necessary Various hours and work patterns available

Hospice Catering Assistant

All aspects of ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen throughout the week Provide a pleasant and friendly service to customers, staff and patients Be an active member within a team of staff and volunteers, showing empathy, support and good communication skills Making hot and cold drinks Preparing vegetables Taking orders, using the cash register and card machine Washing dishes, clearing and cleaning tables Taking meals to the in-patient ward and day services Cleaning and tidying of the kitchen area Loading and unloading of dishwasher Undertaking relevant training when necessary Helping with fundraising activities Filling in safety food books and safety records Maintain and adhere to all Hospice policies and guidelines, including confidentiality, food hygiene standards and health & safety Various hours and work patterns available
