Head of Business Systems

As the Head of Business Systems you'll own the corporate business systems - those core applications that run [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Group (e.g. ERP, CRM, HRIS). You'll work closely with IT Strategy, Procurement, and all functions of the business to bridge IT technical capability with business functional requirements. You'll ensure that platforms are stable, integrated, and continuously evolving. You'll also be accountable for the onboarding, light-touch support and integration of minor systems to ensure [Employer hidden] Group IT is truly accountable for all corporate systems.

About the role

As the Head of Business Systems you'll own the corporate business systems - those core applications that run [Employer hidden] Group (e.g. ERP, CRM, HRIS). You'll work closely with IT Strategy, Procurement, and all functions of the business to bridge IT technical capability with business functional requirements. You'll ensure that platforms are stable, integrated, and continuously evolving. You'll also be accountable for the onboarding, light-touch support and integration of minor systems to ensure [Employer hidden] Group IT is truly accountable for all corporate systems.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of platform roadmaps: Defining the vision, outcomes, and measurable value for ERP / CRM / HRIS and adjacent apps.
  • Running stable, compliant services: Ensuring availability, data integrity, release / change quality, and user experience across core platforms.
  • Integrating the estate: Governing enterprise integration patterns (APIs, iPaaS, eventing); reducing point-to-point debt; ensuring master data and process cohesion.
  • Product operating model: Building backlog practices, service design, and adoption / change management.
  • Vendor and licensing optimisation: Owning supplier performance, renewals and value; right-size licensing and entitlements across platforms.
  • Portfolio intake and prioritisation: Running transparent demand management and quarterly planning with Finance and BRMs.
  • “Light-touch” corporate systems: Creating a simple framework for onboarding / supporting minor apps (tiering, lifecycle and retirement) without slowing the business down.
  • Identify shadow IT: Finding overlapping work across the business and bringing it under IT’s remit.

Skills & experience

- Leadership of multi-platform corporate application landscapes (at least two of ERP, CRM, HRIS) with clear business impact.

- Strong product management, service ownership and integration governance experience.

- Excellent cross-functional partnering with Finance, HR, Commercial and Operations leaders.

- Proven vendor management and commercial acumen, including license optimisation.

- Experience within PE-backed, multi-organisation Group environments desirable.
