This role is primarily gatehouse-based and plays a critical part in maintaining site security, controlling access, and managing vehicle movements.

[Employer hidden] is seeking a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at a busy 24/7 logistics site. This role is primarily gatehouse-based and plays a critical part in maintaining site security, controlling access, and managing vehicle movements.
Shift responsibilities will vary:
- Day shifts will focus primarily on logistics operations, including vehicle checks, gate pass verification, and access control
- Night shifts will focus primarily on site security, including regular patrols, monitoring alarms, and ensuring site integrity
As a key frontline presence, you will act as a visible deterrent to theft, vandalism, and unauthorised access while ensuring all site procedures are followed efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities
- Control all vehicle and pedestrian access at the gatehouse
- Verify and ensure all HGVs have valid gate passes prior to entry and exit
- Accurately log third-party, internal, and logistics vehicles
- Conduct regular hourly patrols and perimeter security checks
- Monitor and respond to fire alarms and intruder detection systems
- Maintain clear and accurate logbooks and incident reports
- Enforce site rules, health & safety regulations, and access control procedures
- Report all incidents promptly to the Control Room
- Liaise professionally with client staff and emergency services when required
- Remain on duty until properly relieved by the next shift officer
Requirements
- Valid SIA Licence (essential)
- Minimum 12 months’ security experience (logistics or gatehouse experience preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Confident in report writing and basic IT system use
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in all duties
- Flexible and able to work a range of shifts including nights, weekends, and bank holidays
- Commitment to wearing and maintaining full uniform standards
- High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
