Burnley BID Warden (Security Officer)
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a proactive, visible Warden to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment in Burnley town centre. You will patrol the area, engage with the public, support local businesses, and work alongside partners including Burnley Council, the police, and CCTV teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-visibility patrols across the BID area and act as a deterrent to anti-social behaviour.
- Respond to incidents including shoplifting, street drinking, drug use, and begging.
- Record incidents accurately using digital tools and body-worn cameras.
- Support enforcement of Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) and assist with witness statements or court proceedings when needed.
- Report environmental issues such as graffiti, vandalism, or fly-tipping.
- Work with partners to share intelligence and improve community safety.
Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential).
- Strong communication and conflict management skills.
- Experience in community-facing roles or town centre patrols preferred.
- Professional appearance and commitment to wearing uniform.
- Competent with radios, reporting software, and body-worn cameras.
Desirable
- First Aid qualification.
- Anti-terrorism awareness training.
- Knowledge of Burnley town centre and BID structure.
