Wheelchair Therapist (Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver autonomous, patient-centred care, independently managing routine and moderately complex cases.
• Adhere to clinical prescription guidelines to ensure safe, effective and appropriate patient care.
• Effectively plan and prioritise caseload to meet service delivery targets, managing time and multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic clinical environment.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to audits and quality improvement initiatives to support safe, effective and continuously evolving patient care.
• Engage in continuous professional development through self-directed study, literature review and participation in relevant training.
• Maintain mandatory training, adhere to policies and procedures and work collaboratively within the team.

Skills and Experience:

Essential:

• Highly developed interpersonal skills – including formal and informal communication
• Proven record of working within an active, fast paced clinical environment
• Experience of having collaborative role in an MDT environment
• Working proactively and collaboratively in the team and wider healthcare system
• Interest in service development and/or evidence of involvement
• Able to prioritise, plan and organise efficiently and work with multiple conflicting priorities.

Desirable:

• Experience undertaking postural assessments.
• Experience of working in a wheelchair service.
• Experience mentoring students or support staff.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
• HCPC registered.
• Full driving licence

Desirable:

• Practice educator training
