FULL DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our wheelchair team in Leicester. As an HCPC-registered clinician, you will competently and confidently assess, prescribe, and fit wheelchairs, buggies and specialist seating to support independence across a range of clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver autonomous, patient-centred care, independently managing routine and moderately complex cases.
- Adhere to clinical prescription guidelines to ensure safe, effective and appropriate patient care.
- Effectively plan and prioritise caseload to meet service delivery targets, managing time and multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic clinical environment.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to audits and quality improvement initiatives to support safe, effective and continuously evolving patient care.
- Engage in continuous professional development through self-directed study, literature review and participation in relevant training.
- Maintain mandatory training, adhere to policies and procedures and work collaboratively within the team.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills – including formal and informal communication
- Proven record of working within an active, fast paced clinical environment
- Experience of having collaborative role in an MDT environment
- Working proactively and collaboratively in the team and wider healthcare system
- Interest in service development and/or evidence of involvement
- Able to prioritise, plan and organise efficiently and work with multiple conflicting priorities.
Desirable:
- Experience undertaking postural assessments.
- Experience of working in a wheelchair service.
- Experience mentoring students or support staff.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
- HCPC registered.
- Full driving licence
Desirable:
- Practice educator training
