Senior Orthotist – Leeds & Manchester
We are looking for a highly motivated, passionate and experienced Orthotist to join Proactive – our private Prosthetic and Orthotic branch of clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert care and management for patients with complex orthotic needs including poly-trauma and neurological conditions.
- Lead initiatives to grow and develop the orthotic service, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of patients and the clinic. Presenting at external events and hosting home clinic events for Solicitors and case Managers.
- Take full responsibility for the complete process of patient care, from assessment and prescription to treatment and follow-up.
- Work closely with case managers and solicitors to coordinate client care.
- Act as a key member of the MDT, contributing to collaborative care planning and decision-making.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients, maintaining the clinic’s standards and protocols.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in orthotics.
- Proven experience managing complex orthotic cases, including poly-trauma and neurological conditions.
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience in service development and quality improvement.
- Familiarity with private healthcare settings and working with case managers/solicitors.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Certified Orthotist
- HND Orthotics
- BSc Orthotics
And in addition, must have:
- Full HCPC Registration
- The ability to meet the requirements of an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check
