Learning & Development Business Partner

Location: Midlands with travel to all hubs

Reporting to: Learning & Development Manager

About the Role

Are you a strategic, commercially-savvy L&D professional who thrives on partnering with leaders to drive performance, culture, and growth? [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Group is looking for a Learning & Development Business Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our L&D strategy across the organisation.

Reporting to the Learning & Development Manager, you will work closely with senior leaders, People Partners, and subject matter experts to understand capability needs, challenge thinking constructively, and design bespoke learning and organisational interventions that drive impact. You will be a trusted advisor, skilled facilitator, and coach, confident influencing leaders at all levels within a professional services environment.

This is a unique opportunity to shape learning experiences that embed culture, accelerate capability, and enable strategic growth across a multi-site, dynamic organisation.

What you will be doing:

Strategic Partnering & Capability Insight

  • Partner with leaders to identify current and future capability needs aligned to business strategy.
  • Challenge constructively to uncover root causes of performance issues and recommend learning or organisational interventions.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify skill gaps, trends, and priorities.
  • Co-create career and capability frameworks to support progression, retention, and performance.

Learning Design, Curation & Delivery

  • Design and deliver engaging, high-impact learning programmes, workshops, and interventions.
  • Curate meaningful content that supports performance at the point of need.
  • Develop bespoke learning experiences that reflect [Employer hidden] values, culture, and responsible business commitments.
  • Leverage digital tools to create blended learning and interactive online experiences.
  • Design learning journeys that integrate pre-work, live application, manager reinforcement, and post-programme follow-up for sustained behavioural adoption.

Facilitation & Coaching

  • Facilitate leadership workshops, team development sessions, and group learning with confidence and adaptability.
  • Coach leaders and teams to build capability, resilience, and a culture of continuous learning.
  • Promote high-performing team behaviours and psychological safety.
  • Deliver learning in-person and virtually across multiple locations, adapting style to different professional audiences.

Talent & Early Careers Collaboration

  • Partner with the Early Careers Manager to design and deliver aligned development programmes.
  • Support talent management initiatives with scalable learning solutions.

Organisational Development & Behavioural Adoption

  • Address organisational, leadership, and behavioural factors impacting performance, beyond skills gaps.
  • Apply behavioural change principles to ensure learning translates into measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to address structural, cultural, or leadership conditions where learning alone won’t deliver impact.
  • Support teams through change, reinforcing expectations, accountability, and confidence in execution.

Evaluation & Performance Impact

  • Monitor and evaluate learning outcomes to ensure skills and behaviours are embedded.
  • Define success measures upfront and use insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Recommend interventions where leading indicators highlight performance opportunities.

What you will need:

  • CIPD Level 5 in Learning & Development (or equivalent experience) or Organisation Development qualification.
  • Proven experience as an L&D Business Partner, Learning Consultant, or OD-focused role in professional services or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong business partnering skills, able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Advanced facilitation and coaching skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
  • End-to-end L&D experience: needs analysis, design, delivery, evaluation, and behavioural follow-through.
  • Experience designing bespoke learning interventions and digital learning assets.
  • Insights Discovery accreditation or equivalent psychometric/behavioural profiling qualification — highly desirable.
  • Experience in multi-site or multi-sector organisations, supporting talent and leadership development.
  • Confidence using digital learning tools (LMS, video, interactive design platforms).
  • Proven experience embedding career frameworks and driving cultural change initiatives.
