Why This Role Matters 

We are strengthening our leadership team and looking for a dynamic Registered Fostering Manager who can drive excellence across the service. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring children experience safety, stability, and consistent, high‑quality care through trauma‑informed, relationship‑based practice.  

What You will Lead & Deliver 

  • Provide decisive, strategic leadership that sets clear expectations and inspires high performance across the operational team.
  • Maintain full regulatory compliance, ensuring the service is inspection‑ready at all times.
  • Champion therapeutic and trauma‑informed practice, embedding consistent standards across all staff and foster families.
  • Drive quality, growth, and innovation, ensuring strong retention of foster families and ongoing development of staff capability.
  • Strengthen safeguarding oversight, ensuring timely decision‑making, effective risk management, and robust accountability.
  • Promote a culture of learning, reflection, and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the service at regional and partnership forums.

  

About You 

  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Have or be in the process NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent qualification
  • Experienced leader within fostering or children’s social care.
  • Skilled in safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Confident in leading teams and building a high‑performance culture.
  • Strong communicator and relationship‑builder.
  • Ready to step up if currently a Deputy.

What is the pay and benefits package?

We offer a comprehensive salary and benefits package (below) to staff, and a staff and carer reward scheme of up to £1,000 for referring foster families to the agency.

Package includes:

  • Annual salary – competitive, paid monthly in arrears
  • Home working allowance – paid monthly in arrears together with salary
  • Business mileage – 45p/mile, paid on a travel expense claims basis
  • Annual leave – 25 days per calendar year (pro-rata), 33 days including bank holidays
  • Private healthcare – eligibility for this is post probationary period.
  • Gym membership – 50% contribution to Gym membership. Paid on a claims basis
  • Sick pay – Up to 5 days paid thereafter paid at statutory sick pay
  • Bonuses – Anchor does not operate individual performance bonus schemes for all staff. Bonuses based on overall agency performance and director’s discretion are sometimes paid.
  • Pension – 3% Employer Contribution, 5% Employee Contribution. Anchor operates a Workplace Pension Scheme with Smart Pension.
