Captive & Insurance Management (Isle of Man)
We work with organisations to help them manage risk more effectively.This includes setting up and running captive insurance companies — insurance businesses owned by the organisation itself.

What the day will look like?
*How the role is structured*
Our business is built around three core areas: Finance, Underwriting, and Governance.
As a graduate, you’ll rotate across all three, gaining hands‑on experience in management accounting, insurance operations, and regulatory and compliance work. This gives you a broad understanding of how the business works, and how the different parts fit together.
*Who you’ll work with*
We work with organisations across many different sectors, including some of the UK’s largest listed companies. From early on, you’ll have exposure to senior leaders at these businesses — supporting them in your role and, at times, attending client Board meetings.
As part of the programme, you’ll also rotate onto our largest client, National Grid, spending part of the year embedded in the dedicated insurance team that runs this account. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience on one of the most established captives in the Isle of Man and one of the largest within [Employer hidden].
What are we looking for? -
- A genuine interest in building a career in insurance and risk, with the motivation to learn and develop professionally
- Good numerical and analytical skills — your degree doesn’t have to be a specific subject
- Curiosity about how insurance fits into the wider business and economic environment
- A practical, commercial mindset and an interest in how organisations make decisions
- The ability to communicate clearly, including explaining complex ideas in a simple way
- Someone who can work independently when needed, but enjoys being part of a team
- Comfortable using everyday tools like Excel, Word, and Outlook (any relevant work experience is a bonus, not a requirement)
Your Development
As an [Employer hidden] Graduate, you will be enrolled onto our Launch Programme when you join. This development programme is built around 3 core elements:
- *Business learning*. On the job learning and experiences enabling you to develop your knowledge and understanding of your team and solution line.
- *Centralised learning*. Our UK graduates complete in an [Employer hidden] Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to develop your knowledge of [Employer hidden], build your confidence and your network across our business.
- *Professional Qualifications* – we want you to be as successful as possible, so through our graduate programme, we’ll fully support your study towards a professional qualification with the Chartered Insurance Institute. To support you as you study for your exams, you’ll receive paid study leave, plus an extensive range of study and tuition materials.
Your career beyond your Graduate programme
Once you’ve completed the formal graduate programme, you’ll continue to receive ongoing support at [Employer hidden]. Alongside further technical and business skills training, you’ll be supported as you continue working towards your professional qualification.
You’ll receive regular performance feedback and work closely with your line manager to support your development and progression - from graduate to Insurance Manager, and beyond.

- Entry Requirements. You will need to have or be on track to achieve a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in any degree subject area.

- Location.This role is based in Douglas, Isle of Man. We recognise the value for our Early Career colleagues of being in the office environment from the beginning of their programme. As a new graduate, you will spend the first 6 months based in the office to support your learning, development, and progression. This will enable you access to support from managers, collaborate with colleagues as well as grow your network across [Employer hidden]. After completing this initial training period, you will then have the opportunity to work more flexibly, spending at least 3 to 4 days face to face in the [Employer hidden] office or with clients.

- Preparation matters, so you’ll have up to 10 days (240 hours) from receiving your invitation to record and submit your video interview.
- Rest assured: Every video interview is reviewed by a real member of our recruitment team, not an AI system.
- You’ll typically hear back from us within 2-3 weeks after submitting your interview, though times may vary depending on the number of applications.
- Final Interview
- This is an in-person interview with some senior managers and presents an ideal opportunity to see our workplace for yourself.
- During the interview, they will further explain the role, discuss your background, skills and experience in relation to it, and there will also be some competency-based questions.
