What the day will look like

We seek an experienced and diligent Marine Claims Handler to join our London team. This is a key role for a confident professional who can take ownership of a varied and sophisticated caseload while delivering a high standard of service to clients and stakeholders. Duties will include

  • Manage a portfolio of international H&M and Marine Liability and Freight Forwarder’s liability claims with potential for some Cargo claims as well.
  • Investigate and evaluate claims, determining coverage and liability
  • Collaborate with surveyors, adjusters, underwriters, and legal advisers as needed
  • Negotiate settlements in line with policy terms and company guidelines
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting in line with regulatory requirements
  • Provide advice and support to clients and internal teams on claims processes and outcomes

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Expertise in Marine Hull claims and/or experience in Marine/Freight forwarder’s liability claims.
  • Outstanding client-facing and relationship management skills.
  • Strong understanding of marine Hull policy wordings and applicable legal frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex caseloads independently
