Role Responsibility

Role Specific:

  • Support the Commercial team in leading the growth and profitability of a portfolio of existing and new clients by devising and implementing technical solutions for client on-boarding and operationalising new business opportunities
  • Liaise with other members of the IT Department, in particular the on-boarding team, as well as various third parties to design and execute value adding solutions
  • Leading and driving the adoption of modern technologies to make [Employer hidden] easier to deal with by accelerating the use of API based approaches; providing clients with more self-service options; understanding trends in the sector and driving Arrow’s uptake of them.  All of this to be articulated in a Roadmap.
  • Identify, onboard, and manage New Carrier Management Systems to enable Arrow XL to offer a more varied and flexible onboarding experience to win New Client Business.

People Management:

Whilst this role will not include the line management of others it will entail the task management of others to ensure clients are on-boarded within agreed timescales.  In this sense the role has similarities with a project management role in which those contributing key activities are task managed by the project manager.

  • Communicates clearly so that those contributing key tasks / activities to a particular on-boarding activity understand the standards required, the timescales involved and the alignment to both functional and broader business objectives
  • Defines and manages on-boarding and data migration activities, being clear about priorities to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Accountable for ensuring the quality of the work is at ‘Professional’ level and the performance of their team members where applicable
  • Role model positive behaviour, which is in keeping with our values, recognising good / excellent performance whilst being clear and transparent about areas of underperformance concerning direct line reports and their teams where applicable
  • Engage and build open and honest professional and positive relationships with team members, fellow colleagues, peers and cross functional stakeholders

General:

  • Is independent in exercising professional knowledge without close supervision
  • Solves problems according to experience, analyses possible solutions and provides suggestions for improvement under defined parameters
  • Effectively manages time so that challenging deadlines are met both individually and by the teams working in this space
  • Act upon any feedback from your line manager concerning delivery performance
  • Be responsible for and undertaking continual learning and development both informally and formally, ensuring a clear understanding of the business and cross functional priorities

The Ideal Candidate

*Experience:*

  • Experience working in a fast-paced medium sized transport environment
  • At least 2 years’ experience in leading and managing successful teams
  • Directly support business development activities with innovative technology solutions and options

*Essential Skills and Attributes:*

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to navigate the corporate landscape, quickly establish credibility and build effective, collaborative, working relationships at all levels
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Able to act in a professional manner to the benefit of the company and always maintain confidentiality
  • Experienced in business and data analysis, data mapping and migration.  Attention to detail is key to this role.
  • A creative and innovative problem solver
  • Capable of describing and depicting complex technology solutions in an engaging and user-friendly way
  • Energetic and dynamic
  • Aware of information security consideration when evaluating solutions and making decisions

*Role Specific Requirements:*

  • Able to collaborate effectively using tools such as e.g Teams, Trello, Jira etc.
  • Preference for a candidate with API gateway technology experience
  • Experience of writing SQL, using EDI, as well as middleware technologies such Webservices and configuring sFTP gateways
  • Experience of RPA solutions could be advantageous
  • Car driver
