Main Responsibilities

  • Create innovative and economical buying and sourcing techniques.
  • Locate and partner with trustworthy providers and suppliers.
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to obtain favourable terms.
  • Review current agreements with suppliers and providers to make sure they are still feasible.
  • Evaluate the risks of prospective contracts and agreements.
  • Control the budget for purchases and encourage a long-term cost-saving culture.
  • Create reports and insights for procurement to lower costs and boost performance.
  • Develop sensible, economical ways to supply the company’s materials.
  • Maintain connections with suppliers while constantly seeking new suppliers.
  • Assess expenditure activities while looking for ways to enhance and improve the quality of the products bought and the timeliness of delivery.
  • Keep track of and inform the appropriate departments of changes in providers and suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with the legal department to ensure favourable contracts and agreements.
  • Maintain a smooth supply chain to achieve maximum production.
  • Prioritise work, effort and focus to deliver value.

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years in a Procurement Manager role.
  • Recognised qualification in either Procurement or Supply Chain (CIPS).
  • A proven track record of successfully managing supply chains.
  • Experience with supply chain management software and technologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, contract preparation and review, billing, and conditions of negotiation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication to support effective negotiations and agreements.
  • Strong financial knowledge and understanding beyond the basics.
  • The capacity to multi-task, manage time and prioritise tasks.
  • Extremely well-organised and meticulous.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to start, plan, carry out, manage, and close projects successfully.
  • Strong stakeholder management - the ability to build effective and professional relationships both internally and externally.
