FULL DESCRIPTION

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] in Lewes is looking for a friendly and professional Night Host/ Porter to join our team in our Wedding & Events venue in the town centre of Lewes. Overseeing the safety and security of the whole premises overnight including our guests in our 29 Bedrooms. We are looking for a candidate to contribute to a welcoming environment in an amazing setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Security: conducting regular, methodical security checks of the premises, ensuring building is secure, and monitoring CCTV systems.
  • Monitor the entry and exit of people and vehicles. Ensure the safety and security of the premises by identifying and addressing any issues with noise.
  • Guest Service: Provide a welcoming presence for guests, managing front reception areas, assisting guests with late check-ins, and any additional ad- hoc requests,
  • Maintenance & cleanliness: Tidying public areas (lobby, bar) and completing checklists to ensure the venue is presentable for morning staff.
  • Emergency response: Acting as the primary responder for fire alarms, maintenance faults, or medical incidents, and knowing evacuation procedures.
  • Operational support: Preparing for the next day by setting up breakfast/ wedding tables, polishing cutlery/ crockery and general table set up.

Other skills & requirements

  • Vigilance & reliability: High level of trust, dependability, and attention to detail for solo working, this is a night shift.
  • Physical stamina: Ability to walk, stand, and some light lifting during night hours.
  • Communication: Professional demeanor when communicating with guests and other team members, either in person, via phone, or by the front gate.
  • Versatility: Capable of multi-tasking between guest requests and security checks, must be comfortable working alone.

Please note this work is seasonal so additional working hours would be expected during busier periods with time taken back during quieter periods.
