Meadowview Care Home is located in the leafy residential area of Penketh in Warrington. As the name suggests, it overlooks a meadow, which is currently home to horses. Our home focuses on delivering exceptional standards of personalised care and ensuring residents and their families feel supported and respected.

The Role

Food is an important aspect of our care, and we focus on serving freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced, classic, and comforting meals, to suit each resident’s individual tastes and preferences.

We are looking to recruit a Chef to join our friendly team. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating the menus for our residents, supervising the kitchen team and ensuring the kitchen is kept to a high standard of hygiene.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Creation of nutritional-balanced weekly menus with flexible approach to menu alterations
  • Ability to provide any special dietary requirements including pureed & modified meals
  • Food is cooked and served at correct temperature
  • Efficient and hygienic preparation of food by all kitchen staff
  • Daily and weekly cleaning of kitchen is carried out
  • All equipment is well-maintained and kept clean
  • Ensuring food stocks and stores are well maintained, HACCP compliance is maintained
  • Lead a small but dedicated team, compiling their weekly rotas
  • Record and action any incidents or accidents
  • Have excellent Health &Safety knowledge
  • Be financially astute with good understanding of food costs
  • Be innovative, creative and driven by excellence
  • Stay up to date with current food trends

Qualifications:

Substantial experience in Advanced Health & Hygiene

Previous experience of working in a care home preferred
