About the Role

The regulation manager is responsible for providing advice to the business on all aspects of food and NEG product labelling including those sourced via Direct Import and Licenced, and in some cases may also require project work on branded lines. This is to ensure that all [Employer hidden] own brand food and NEG products, however they are sold across the estate, are legally compliant.

You will lead and execute the specifications management process to support 100% accuracy in relation to legislation, product incidents/traceability and policy by ensuring that due diligence requirements are always met through the correct training, system development (working with the Hive team), supplier training, internal auditing and reporting.

Find your role -

  • Be a key decision maker on all legal labelling issues that arise within the business, acting as a point of reference for marketing, trading, [Employer hidden] brand, and online
  • Manage the compliance of own label specifications ensuring plans in place to address any non-conformance.
  • Maintain close links with Planning, Process, Systems team to ensure alignment on improving process and quality performance relating to legal labelling.
  • Working with food safety & regulation team (and as required the legal & compliance team) on mitigation in relation to serious legal / enforcement challenge, as well as customer complaints, involving the corporate affairs team as required.
  • Working with external bodies/government/NGOs to influence the development and implementation of new & emerging legislation (within this area of responsibility) identifying risks and benefits for the business and putting in place mitigations and leading the development of effective business implementation.
  • Working with Own Brand to ensure that any brand guidelines are in line with legal labelling policy.
  • Review legislation and translate into clear policy that can be simply executed in the business.
  • Drive and support internal ASDAs Stakeholders (and suppliers, as required) to ensure they have the skills and training to deliver the required level of specification knowledge (PMs and TMs).
  • To ensure that all Pigs and Pentics comply with the correct legal labelling policy.
  • Controlling will for outsource service provider ensuring statement of requirements (SOR) are met.
  • Support incident management framework to ensure trading law standards are maintained.
