Teacher of Science (maternity) job summary

We are a popular and high-achieving secondary school, seeking a passionate and committed Science Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive team, covering a period of maternity leave from September 2026.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Science lessons across both KS3 and KS4, inspiring curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. You will work in one of 9 well-resourced laboratories with three prep rooms, alongside experienced teaching and lab technician colleagues who value collaboration and innovation.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified Science teacher (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or General Science)
  • Has strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management skills
  • Is enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to student progress and wellbeing
  • Can contribute positively to the wider life of the school
