FULL DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Curriculum Leader of Maths 

Actual Annual Salary: £26,330 - £40,838 - (M1 – UPS3) + TLR 1B £12,521

Full Time Annual Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (M1 – UPS3) + TLR 1B £12,521

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 31 May 2027 or on the return of the current postholder (Maternity cover)

Hours: Part-Time, 26 hours per week.  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

Start Date: September 2026

Curriculum Leader of Maths job summary

As the Curriculum leader of Maths, you will lead our department across Key Stages 3-5, overseeing the curriculum, teaching, and assessment strategies to ensure high standards of student achievement. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a fabulous team of dedicated teachers. If you are passionate about Maths and committed to fostering a positive learning environment, as well experienced in making a difference to students who experience disadvantage, we would love to hear from you.

About you:

You will have:

  • Experience of leadership within Maths secondary education that has led to improved outcomes for all, especially students who experience disadvantage.
  • A strong understanding of how to facilitate the delivery of the curriculum through effective pedagogy and practice and leadership of others.
  • An excellent knowledge and understanding of the curriculum across key stages.
  • An excellent standard of oral and written communication skills and ability to understand and convey information effectively, precisely and timely.
  • Great organisational and efficient administration skills.
  • the ability to build strong and effective working relationships with teachers and other academy staff.
