Shirley High School is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Medical Officer/ Attendance and Welfare Support to offer medical assistance and attendance welfare support. The role involves providing medical support, ensuring student attendance, and contributing to a positive learning environment. Salary: Grade 3 Point 5 FTE £29,436 (Actual salary £25,179.24) 36 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Medical Officer/ Attendance and Welfare Support to offer medical assistance and attendance welfare support. We are looking for someone who:

  • has excellent and professional oral and written communication skills
  • has effective use of IT and other specialist equipment/ resources;
  • has a strong sense of accuracy and demonstrable attention to detail;
  • understands the importance of confidentiality;
  • is enthusiastic and self-motivation;
  • has a First-Aid qualification or is willing to undertake one;
  • has the ability to relate well to children and adults;
  • is a positive role model for young, developing and impressionable minds;
  • has the ability to work independently and constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these;
  • has experience working in a school (desirable);
  • has experience working with SIMs (desirable).
