FULL DESCRIPTION

Key Stage 3 Leader of English TLR: 2A

The Key Stage 3 Leader for English offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of students within a highly successful and ambitious school. The postholder will provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of an engaging Key Stage 3 English curriculum. Working closely with the Head of English, they will ensure that the curriculum is coherent, ambitious and responsive to the needs of all learners. This role provides the chance to make a tangible impact on students’ progress and confidence in English at a crucial stage of their education. The successful candidate will lead curriculum development, inspire and support colleagues in delivering high-quality teaching, and ensure that assessment and responsive strategies effectively identify and address gaps in learning. Particular emphasis will be placed on securing students’ foundational literacy knowledge, including handwriting, spelling and written accuracy, so that all students are exceptionally well prepared for success at Key Stage 4 and beyond.
