Salary: Support Staff Pay Scale E: £23,091 to £24,612 pro-rata per annum (Actual) (£26,403 - £28,142 full time/full year equivalent)

Behaviour Officer job summary

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a reliable, dynamic and responsible person for the role of Behaviour Officer to support and supervise students who have been temporarily removed from lessons in the Academy.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • To support and supervise pupils who have been temporarily removed from lessons in the Academy and have been placed in Reflection Room.
  • To provide immediate support for behavioural incidents which take place and work with pupils to support a smooth reintegration into the learning environment.
  • To meet with and telephone parents as required discussing the behaviour, or improvements in behaviour, of pupils.
  • To contribute to and monitor the school's internal exclusion records, identifying patterns and alerting staff of any concerns.

About You:

You will be someone with good interpersonal skills, empathy, professional ethics, resilience and emotional strength who can foster a safe, inclusive, and structured environment.

Essential:

  • Good basic level of education preferably including GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Experience of working with children
  • Experience of problem solving
  • Ability to establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding accordingly to their individual needs
  • Able to work with challenging situations and offer support in a calm manner
  • Top quality organisational skills and confidence in communicating with a range of different stakeholders

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience or higher
  • DSL training or equivalent
