  • 641 children on roll (April 2026).
  • OFSTED ‘Good’ December 2024.
  • Awards: Music Quality Mark (2025), School Games Gold (2024-25), Woodland Trust Bronze and Green Flag accreditation.
  • A committed leadership team, experienced staff and an enthusiastic school community working to our vision of Nurture, Achieve and Excel through our SMART values: Sensitive, Motivated, Aspirational, Resilient, Truthful.

About the role

This is a dual-role post, combining classroom excellence with specialist SEND responsibility — a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact across the school.

  • KS2 Class Teacher (3 days per week)
  • Assistant SENDCo (2 days per week)

This role reports to the SENDCo and SLT and offers the chance to influence whole-school inclusive practice and see the impact of evidence-informed interventions.

About you — the ideal candidate

We’re seeking a teacher who will champion our values and bring energy, expertise and compassion to both classroom and SEND work. You will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong primary classroom experience — we welcome applications from ECTs.
  • A growing or established understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience (or strong interest) in the graduated approach (assess, plan, do, review).
  • The ability to lead and support colleagues with a collaborative, practical approach — especially teaching assistants and specialist TAs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with children, families and external professionals, with sensitivity to our high-mobility and diverse community.
  • Organisational flair for managing a caseload, accurate record-keeping and meeting statutory deadlines.
  • A reflective, problem-solving mindset, commitment to inclusion and safeguarding, and a desire to develop professionally (National Award for SENDCOs is desirable).

If you want to make a measurable difference to children’s learning and wellbeing and enjoy working in a dynamic, supportive school, you’ll fit well here.

What we offer

A purposeful, friendly school community with enthusiastic pupils and supportive colleagues.

A superb, purpose-built environment and a chance to contribute to an expanding Butterfly Provision.

  • Ongoing CPD and coaching: INSET, safeguarding updates, support toward SEND qualifications (National Award for SENDCOs), and access to local SEND networks.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression and leadership development within a collaborative SLT.
  • A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and professional growth.

For an informal conversation or to arrange a visit, please contact the school office on [contact hidden].

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
