Head of Physics job summary
We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Head of Physics to join our highly successful school. Our science department is dynamic and collaborative, benefitting from outstanding resources, modern facilities, and a strong commitment to extracurricular enrichment. Physics is consistently one of our most popular and successful A Level subjects, with students achieving excellent results year after year.
St Mark’s was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in September 2022, and our recent inspection highlighted the exceptional relationships between staff and students that foster our culture of exemplary behaviour and a love of learning. We are a heavily oversubscribed school with a thriving Sixth Form of almost 300 students. We offer an exceptional environment where dedicated teachers can truly make a difference, and we are incredibly proud of our students who achieve consistently excellent examination results.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Excellent classroom management, communication, organisation and teaching skills.
- The ability to teach physics to KS3, KS4 and KS5.
- A desire to foster positive relationships with students and staff.
- Motivation to try new ideas and keep pushing creative boundaries.
