DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (RESISTANT MATERIALS/FOOD/GRAPHICS) SEND

We are looking for a Design and Technology Teacher from September 2026, to work full-time who will deliver inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning within the curriculum area of Design Technology. You will constantly strive to produce outstanding/good teaching and learning at all times to ensure that all pupils succeed. Under the reasonable direction of the Senior Leadership Team, you will perform the professional duties of a school Teacher as set out in the current School policies.

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a Design and Technology Teacher from September 2026, to work full-time who will deliver inclusive, responsive and innovative teaching and learning within the curriculum area of Design Technology. You will constantly strive to produce outstanding/good teaching and learning at all times to ensure that all pupils succeed. Under the reasonable direction of the Senior Leadership Team, you will perform the professional duties of a school Teacher as set out in the current School policies.

You will have the opportunity to work as part of an enthusiastic and progressive department within this unique Specialist Provision. You will become a valued member of an encouraging and friendly staff group.

You will be delivering Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 but knowledge of Key Stage 2 Design Technology is also beneficial.

Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Promote the learning and achievement of all pupils in your classes ensuring equality of opportunity for all.
  • Plan and prepare long term and medium-term plans.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the relevant course content.
  • Create a purposeful learning environment.
  • Teaching, according to individual educational needs, and marking of work.
  • Teach engaging and motivating lessons informed by well-grounded expectations of pupils and designed to raise levels of attainment.
  • Know how to make effective personalised provision and effectively provide differentiated tasks for those that you teach.
  • Have high expectations of our pupils including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential and to establish fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with them.
  • Know how to use skills in literacy, numeracy and IT to support teaching and wider professional activities.
  • Use assessment as part of your teaching to address pupils’ needs, set realistic and challenging targets for improvement and plan future teaching.
  • Ensure that elements of preparing for adulthood.
  • Deliver exciting and innovative learning and undertake assessment using a broad range of methods, taking full responsibility for the success of all pupils, developing a personalised and holistic learning approach in all lessons.
