Catering Supervisor job summary

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Catering Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operation of our school kitchen. This is a temporary maternity cover position and is an excellent opportunity for someone with catering experience who enjoys working in a school environment.

The successful candidate will oversee the catering service, supervise two catering assistants and ensure that high-quality, nutritious meals are prepared and served to our pupils each day. The role is hands-on and will involve food preparation, menu planning, ordering supplies and ensuring that all food hygiene and health and safety standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising the day-to-day running of the school kitchen
  • Preparing and serving healthy, balanced meals in line with School Food Standards
  • Managing food orders, stock control and kitchen budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with food hygiene, allergen and health & safety regulations
  • Leading and supporting two catering assistants
  • Promoting healthy eating and encouraging pupils to enjoy school meals

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in a catering environment
  • Holds a Level 3 Food Safety qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has strong organisational and supervisory skills
  • Is enthusiastic about providing high-quality food for children
  • Works well as part of a team in a busy school environment
