Teacher of Food Technology job summary

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a dedicated Expressive Arts department and create an environment where students explore and develop a lifelong love of culinary skills.

We can offer you the opportunity to deliver theory and practical lessons where you will inspire students to appreciate nutrition and culinary techniques that cover a range of food technology topics and concepts. Whatever your career stage, you will be supported to develop further knowledge and to enhance your teaching tool kit, so that our students are able to excel in all aspects of their educational journey. We welcome applications from all teachers including ECTs. So, whether you are looking to reinvigorate your engagement with the profession, or you are new to teaching and want to develop your talent, this is the ideal role and environment for you.

As a standalone academy, we believe in our teachers being able to do the role they are employed to do, which is to deliver engaging lessons to our students. We therefore have an easy and structured behaviour system for our students and you to follow in lessons. After this, we have dedicated teams who intervene and leave you to continue with the job you love doing

As Teacher of Food Technology, you will be welcomed into an experienced team of creative professionals to:

  • Play a fundamental role in progressing the Expressive Arts department to the next stage in its development and even greater success

  • Encourage our students to have high expectations of themselves and their behaviour
  • Engage students in study at GCSE
  • Be a positive role model and supportive mentor to students, making a lasting impact on their lives
