Graduate Data and Project Analyst
The Graduate Data and Project Analyst will play a key role in analysing data, creating insightful visualisations, managing inventory, and coordinating projects. This is a broad role and a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to gain extensive experience across multiple areas, including data analysis, project management, and IoT sensor maintenance.

Atmo is a leading company specialising in asset and environmental data, primarily serving the rail and highways industries. We are dedicated to optimising asset performance and monitoring environmental factors, with a strong focus on air quality and noise monitoring. Our vibrant, plant-filled city centre office in Bristol provides a great working environment, complemented by a fantastic team and regular socials.
Requirements
- Data Analysis
- Analyse air quality and asset optimization data.
- Perform data cleaning, visualisation, and statistical analysis.
- Use Python (Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib) and SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
- Create business intelligence insights from various datasets.
- Manage data sources, including CSVs, Google BigQuery, APIs, and city council websites.
- Communicate complex data in a simple, understandable manner.
- Tableau Reports
- Create analysis and infographic reports and dashboards in Tableau.
- Monitor air quality and asset data, comparing to thresholds.
- Update reports on an ad hoc basis, with ongoing reporting projects taking up approximately 50% of the time.
- Project Coordination
- Organise and coordinate projects, ensuring documentation and administrative tasks are completed.
- Use spreadsheets and ClickUp for project management.
- Communicate effectively with a small team of seven members via Google Chat, phone, and in-person meetings.
- Inventory Management
- Use Excel for inventory management tasks.
- Track stock levels, receive orders, ship orders, and check battery levels.
- Ensure IoT sensors are properly connected to the gateway.
- Site Visits
- Occasional visit sites to monitor environmental factors or change batteries in IoT sensors.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education
- A graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Environmental Science, Computer Science).
- Technical Skills
- Proficient in Tableau and Figma.
- Basic knowledge of Google Cloud (Google BigQuery) and GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Basic knowledge of Bitbucket and Git version control.
- Highly proficient in Python and SQL, with experience in Numpy, Pandas, and Matplotlib.
- Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and/or Microsoft Suite.
- Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills, capable of simplifying complex data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
- Location: This role is based in our bright, plant-filled city centre office in Bristol, with occasional site visits required.
- Team Size: A small team, fostering a close-knit and collaborative work environment.
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: £30k-£35k depending on experience
- Benefits: Flexible working, typically 3 out of 5 days working from the office
