Followspot Operator

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] seeks a Followspot Operator for the Hot Ice XS ice show. Responsibilities include operating followspot equipment, working with the lighting team, and ensuring safety. The role is seasonal, from June 30th to September 30th, 2025.

Overview:

[Employer hidden] are seeking a Followspot Operator to join our team for our upcoming ice show Hot Ice XS.

Dates: 30th June 2025 – 30th September 2025 *(6 Days per week, Monday to Saturday)*

Responsibilities:

  • Operate Followspot equipment to accurately track and highlight performers.
  • Work closely with the lighting designer and lighting operator to execute lighting cues effectively.
  • Maintain constant communication with the lighting team to ensure smooth transitions and lighting changes.
  • Monitor and adjust Followspot settings to maintain consistent lighting levels and focus on performers.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Carry out pre-sets and pre-show checks prior to each performance.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating Followspot equipment in live performance settings, preferably in ice shows or similar productions is desired but not essential.
  • Proficiency in understanding lighting cues and following directions from the lighting designer and lighting operator.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced, live entertainment environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the production schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Followspot operation or related technical fields.
  • Familiarity with ice show productions and understanding of the unique challenges they present.
  • Experience working with lighting systems and familiarity with lighting consoles.
