Technical Assistant – Forage Crops
A vacancy has arisen in our Forage Crops Team based at North Clifton for a Technical Assistant.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Forage Technical Manager, assisting in all day-to-day activities of the Forage crops trials team based at North Clifton.
- To assist with maize drilling & harvesting, working with other LG technical staff on trials preparation, drilling, cultivation, spraying, harvesting, sampling, scoring.
- To assist with the maintenance of the NC demonstration area. Mowing, spraying, weeding, fleecing, cultivations etc.
- To assist in all preparation, drilling and harvesting of trials at NC, grass, herbage, brassicas, and environmental demonstration.
- Assist in the collection of data.
- To work both independently and as part of a team.
- To work carefully and to understand fully the need accuracy in all that we do – weighing, recording, data collection.
ADDITIONAL INFO
Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate attention to detail and be a team player.
This position is on a Fixed Term Contract for 18 months.
