Stores Team Leader (Temp to Perm)
Location: On-site
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (38 hours)
Salary: £30,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing company for a Stores Team Leader to join the Operations team on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for ensuring the Stores function runs efficiently, safely, and in line with production requirements. You will lead a team of stores operatives, supporting day-to-day activity while ensuring high standards of accuracy, stock control, and system compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, support, and supervise the Stores team to achieve daily operational targets
  • Ensure accurate and timely picking, goods receipt, and distribution of materials to production
  • Maintain high levels of stock accuracy through cycle counting and disciplined inventory control
  • Oversee ERP transactions and ensure full compliance with scanning and traceability processes
  • Act as first point of contact for operational queries and prioritisation of work
  • Maintain housekeeping, audit readiness, and operational standards within the Stores area
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices in line with EHS requirements
  • Support continuous improvement activity across Stores operations
  • Ensure effective use of automated storage systems (VLM)

Key Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in a warehouse, stores, or materials handling environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Good communication and team leadership skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Experience with ERP systems and hand-held scanning devices
  • FLT licence
  • Supervisory or team leader experience
  • Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience

Hours and Benefits

  • 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Working hours between 08:00–18:00 (to be agreed with line manager)
  • Early Friday finish currently in place, subject to workload
  • Temp-to-perm opportunity with long-term progression potential
