FULL DESCRIPTION

Engineering Supervisor | Permanent | Competitive Salary

Ready to take on a role where your leadership and technical expertise will be put to good use?

Our client, an established manufacturing business, is looking to recruit an experienced Engineering Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on leadership role working across a two-shift rota (mornings and afternoons), offering the chance to make a real impact on engineering performance and reliability.

The Details

Location- Thetford

Term- Permanent

Salary- Circa £50,000 per annum dependant on experience

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will take ownership of the site's computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), ensuring it is fully implemented, accurately maintained, and embedded into daily engineering activity. Alongside system ownership, you will supervise and support the engineering team across both shifts - allocating tasks, attending breakdowns, and stepping in on the tools when the situation demands it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the CMMS: building asset registers, scheduling PPM tasks, logging reactive maintenance, and using data to drive continuous improvement
  • Supervise the engineering team across a two-shift rota, providing practical, floor-based leadership
  • Attend and lead equipment breakdowns, particularly during peak production periods or reduced staffing
  • Ensure planned preventative maintenance is completed to the required standard
  • Enforce safe systems of work, permit-to-work procedures, and a strong safety-first culture
  • Collaborate closely with production and operations teams to minimise downtime and align priorities

About You

  • Proven hands-on experience in an engineering supervisory or team leader role
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a CMMS
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills
  • Background in a shift-based manufacturing environment
  • A confident, visible leader who performs well under pressure
  • Solid knowledge of health & safety legislation and engineering compliance
