Location : Braintree
Monday to Friday 40 hour week
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
Job Description:
We’re currently recruiting an experienced Panel Wireperson to join a busy, well-established workshop based in Braintree. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role ideal for someone who enjoys building quality panels and takes pride in neat, accurate work.
As a Panel Wireperson, you’ll be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing low-voltage electrical distribution panels, working from engineering drawings and specifications. You’ll be part of a supportive team working to high safety and quality standards.
Key Duties
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and BOMs
- Assembling and wiring LV distribution panels, control panels, and sub-assemblies
- Cutting, stripping, crimping, labelling, and terminating cables
- Installing trunking, cable looms, terminals, busbars, breakers, contactors, relays, meters, and sockets
- Carrying out basic electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing)
- Identifying and reporting drawing errors, missing components, or build issues
- Working to production schedules and deadlines
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Panel Wireperson, Electrical Fitter, or LV Panel Builder
- Experience working with low-voltage (400VAC) distribution panels
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
- Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of BS EN 61439, BS 7671, and switchgear up to 630A is desirable
