Location : Braintree

Monday to Friday 40 hour week

Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year

Job Description:

We’re currently recruiting an experienced Panel Wireperson to join a busy, well-established workshop based in Braintree. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role ideal for someone who enjoys building quality panels and takes pride in neat, accurate work.

As a Panel Wireperson, you’ll be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing low-voltage electrical distribution panels, working from engineering drawings and specifications. You’ll be part of a supportive team working to high safety and quality standards.

Key Duties

  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and BOMs
  • Assembling and wiring LV distribution panels, control panels, and sub-assemblies
  • Cutting, stripping, crimping, labelling, and terminating cables
  • Installing trunking, cable looms, terminals, busbars, breakers, contactors, relays, meters, and sockets
  • Carrying out basic electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing)
  • Identifying and reporting drawing errors, missing components, or build issues
  • Working to production schedules and deadlines
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Panel Wireperson, Electrical Fitter, or LV Panel Builder
  • Experience working with low-voltage (400VAC) distribution panels
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
  • Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of BS EN 61439, BS 7671, and switchgear up to 630A is desirable
