We are looking for a dependable and detail-focused Part-Time Finance Manager/Accountant to join our client based in Great Dunmow. This is a flexible, part-time offering 1 to possible 2 days a week.

Part-Time Finance Manager/Accountant

Great Dunmow, Essex Part-time (1 to 2 days per week) – hybrid considered c£25 per hour negotiable

Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and detail-focused Part-Time Finance Manager/Accountant to join our client based in Great Dunmow. This is a flexible, part-time offering 1 to possible 2 days a week.

Outline of tasks include:

  • Daily cash flow forecast monitoring.
  • Process weekly PL invoice payments.
  • Reimburse monthly staff expense claims and process overtime payments.
  • Gap analysis for long and short term targets
  • Post monthly group inter-company journals, accrual and prepayment journals and payroll journals.
  • Post monthly stock take and stock transfer figures.
  • Run monthly nominal ledger activity report and check everything has been posted correctly.
  • Produce monthly management accounts pack for discussion with the MD.
  • Reconcile and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Close accounts for the year and prepare year end file for stat accounts preparation.
  • Post year end journals.
  • Reconcile the balance sheet and P&L with the closing TB.
  • Set budgets and revenue targets for the upcoming year.
  • Ensure DLA accounts do not go overdrawn
  • Monitor sales for trends and downturns.
  • Monitor expenses for fluctuations.
  • Run 3x monthly payrolls covering 20 staff and make wage payments via bank transfer.
  • Set up new staff on Tanda, nest and Xero payroll systems.
  • Calculate holiday entitlements and set up balances for the new year.
  • Minimum wage compliance checks.
  • Monitor holiday entitlements and ensure staff take the allowance by the end of the year.
  • Submit NEST pension returns monthly.
