Job Role

We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic Barista and Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will take pride in crafting great coffee and providing excellent customer service, while also supporting the kitchen team with food preparation and maintaining high standards of hygiene. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their day - from making coffees front of house to helping with prep in the kitchen - and who thrives in a busy, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages to a consistently high standard
  • Deliver outstanding customer service with a welcoming and professional approach 
  • Assist in basic food preparation, including washing, chopping, and assembling ingredients
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene across both café and kitchen areas
  • Support chefs or supervisors with cooking and plating tasks as required
  • Keep kitchen and service areas tidy and organised, including dishwashing and general cleaning
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations
  • Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels where needed

Qualifications

Catering qualifications preferred but not required

Experience

  • Previous barista experience or strong interest in coffee preparation
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (training can be provided)
  • Confidence in food preparation and handling
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong time-management and multitasking abilities
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
