Working alongside the herd manager and owners, taking responsibility for certain areas and your weekends on, you will be a key part of the senior team. The role would entail assisting the herd manager in all aspects of cow care, health and welfare, daily record keeping, spotting and dealing with issues, fertility work and some milkings. You will be a point of contact for junior members of the team giving them a good example to follow. The successful candidate would have experience in a similar role or looking to progress in their career towards eventual herd management. You will be passionate about cows and profitable dairy farming with a proactive approach and excellent communication skills. AI and foot trimming certificates are highly desirable.
