Edendale Lodge is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. The role involves supervising a team of Care Assistants, creating personalised care plans, performing risk assessments, and delivering high-quality care that enables individuals to live as independently as possible. It requires strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, a compassionate and understanding nature, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creating person-centred care plans and performing risk assessments.
- Completing and monitoring medication administration record (MAR) sheets.
- Documenting and monitoring daily care notes.
- Supporting individuals to attend appointments and community activities.
- Encouraging residents to maintain their independence.
- Administering medication and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing nutritional support, including meal preparation.
- Undertaking household duties to ensure a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Assisting residents with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, and toileting.
- Assisting with mobility needs using aids like hoists and standing aids as necessary.
- Offering companionship to enhance the emotional well-being of residents.
- Safeguarding residents and maintaining a high level of well-being.
- Effectively communicating with colleagues, management, residents’ families, and third-party professionals.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in the health and social care sector or a relevant qualification.
- Ability to lead by example.
- Passionate about supporting people to live a fulfilling life.
- Willingness to undergo training and development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong consideration for the needs and wishes of the individuals in our care.
