FULL DESCRIPTION

Edendale Lodge is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. The role involves supervising a team of Care Assistants, creating personalised care plans, performing risk assessments, and delivering high-quality care that enables individuals to live as independently as possible. It requires strong organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, a compassionate and understanding nature, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating person-centred care plans and performing risk assessments.
  • Completing and monitoring medication administration record (MAR) sheets.
  • Documenting and monitoring daily care notes.
  • Supporting individuals to attend appointments and community activities.
  • Encouraging residents to maintain their independence.
  • Administering medication and maintaining accurate records.
  • Providing nutritional support, including meal preparation.
  • Undertaking household duties to ensure a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Assisting residents with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, and toileting.
  • Assisting with mobility needs using aids like hoists and standing aids as necessary.
  • Offering companionship to enhance the emotional well-being of residents.
  • Safeguarding residents and maintaining a high level of well-being.
  • Effectively communicating with colleagues, management, residents’ families, and third-party professionals.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the health and social care sector or a relevant qualification.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Passionate about supporting people to live a fulfilling life.
  • Willingness to undergo training and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong consideration for the needs and wishes of the individuals in our care.
