Independence Support Ltd (ISL) provides high-quality supported living services in Middlewich, Cheshire, supporting adults with complex mental health needs to live independently, confidently and safely.
Our service supports 17 individuals in self-contained apartments enhanced with modern assistive technology, creating a structured and supportive environment. The people we support enjoy a range of activities including coffee shop visits, walks, gym sessions, swimming and bingo, promoting wellbeing and community inclusion.

About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and reliable Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of our supported living service. This is a key role where you will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality and person-centred support.
You will provide leadership to the team, support service delivery, and ensure individuals are supported to achieve positive outcomes and maintain independence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Service Delivery
- Support and supervise staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
- Assist with rota planning to ensure staffing meets service needs
- Support performance management and absence processes
- Deputise for the Service Manager when required
Quality, Compliance & Safeguarding
- Ensure all support plans and risk assessments are accurate and up to date
- Support safeguarding processes and reporting requirements
- Maintain high standards in line with organisational policies and quality systems
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards
Person-Centred Support
- Support the completion of assessments and outcome-focused support planning
- Provide guidance to staff on complex situations
- Act as first point of contact for complaints and conflict resolution
- Provide hands-on support and work on rota when required
Partnership & Development
- Work alongside health and social care professionals to achieve the best outcomes
- Support service improvements and development initiatives
- Promote inclusion and access to community resources
- Maintain accurate electronic records and reporting systems
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in supported living, mental health or a similar care setting
- Confident supporting individuals with complex needs
- Able to lead, motivate and support a team
- Organised with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexible and able to work across a 7-day rota, including days, nights and on-call duties
A supervisory or leadership background is highly desirable.
