Role profile

"It is a strong practice… the offering is exceptionally good" - Chambers UK

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Associate or an Associate Director to join the Real Estate team in our Bristol or London office.  In this role you will have the opportunity to work on varied, high quality work for top quality commercial clients across all areas of our Real Estate practice.

The practice

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] LLP have an outstanding reputation in real estate due to the quality and breadth of our client base and the value and complexity of the work we undertake. We have made a long-term investment in our real estate practice both in the UK and internationally, offering extensive expertise in investment across numerous asset classes, logistics, student accommodation, regeneration, residential and commercial development, energy and utilities. Our team approach, industry knowledge and excellent communication enable us to deliver a full and thorough service to our clients operating across our UK offices in Bristol, London and Reading.

Our clients

We act for numerous PLC clients – often on a national, multi service line panel basis. Our list of clients is impressive and includes: British Land, GLP, Barratt, Mirastar, Patrizia, M&S, DTZIM, AEG, M&G, PGIM, ICG, Taylor Wimpey, U&I, Indurent, Vodafone, Greystar and SEGRO to name a few.

The team

The real estate team is made up of over 100 lawyers, including 24 Partners in the UK. The team works collaboratively in client teams across our London, Bristol and Reading offices and the Bristol team comprises a large number of partners and experienced lawyers, running some of our largest client relationships. Louise Cartwright (Partner) leads the whole of the UK team.

Technical skills and experience

We are looking to appoint a very capable and dedicated lawyer with a genuine desire to develop their career as a rounded commercial property lawyer.  You will have some commercial property law experience gained at a city, national or large regional law firm recognised for its property practice. The role will involve transactional investment work, including dealing with financings, and asset management of commercial assets in a variety of sectors, so prior experience in these areas will be required.  There may also be some opportunity to get involved in development projects.  Due to the nature of the work and structure of the team we are looking to appoint a Senior Associate or an Associate Director in this area, however we are willing to consider candidates with more or less experience.

Your career development

Like all our lawyers, you will benefit from our multi-award winning career development programme. At each stage of your career this provides you with:

  • clear expectations of your role and what it takes to progress
  • high quality clients and work, with early responsibility and client exposure
  • thorough assessment and individual feedback from a range of experienced colleagues
  • robust technical training with early skills based development, increasingly tailored to you
  • reward for your contribution, progression and potential, rather than PQE or tenure

Salary and benefits

We offer competitive salaries and generous benefits.
