Children's Strategic Commissioner

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] have an exciting new opportunity as Children’s Strategic Commissioner available on a full-time working pattern basis. The post holder will work across Children’s Services and be responsible for diverse portfolio of work including Health, Education, Social Care, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and young people with complex needs.

The Children’s Strategic Commissioner role:

We require a candidate who is skilled at communicating (verbally and in writing) with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including children and families, in a way that builds understanding and support across health, education and social care. You should ideally possess negotiation, project management and critical thinking skills and have an adaptable and resilient personality that thrives under pressure and is able to go the extra mile to achieve outstanding results. Experience working with procurement, legal and finance will be integral to the role.

As the Children’s Strategic Commissioner, you will be responsible for commissioning a range of services and will involve supporting providers to continually enhance quality, responding to delivery, funding challenges, and communicating effectively with key stakeholders.

Our ideal Children’s Strategic Commissioner will have the below skills and experience:

• knowledge of strategy development and outcomes-based commissioning for children and families and have the following skillsets or experiences: • Experience working across multi-agency settings within a health commissioning organisation/ local authority. • Experience of successfully managing commissioning budgets and negotiating complex service agreements. • Experience and understanding of priorities attuned to children’s and family services with an acute awareness of safeguarding issues.

This role will support a joint children and young people’s commissioning programme that enables North and Central London NHS ICB and [Employer hidden] to deliver service and system transformation in several priority areas.
