FULL DESCRIPTION

We are currently recruiting for a Brewing & Syrup Operator to join a busy and well-established beverage manufacturing site in Bedfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a production environment where you will gain exposure across multiple areas of the process, from raw material intake through to bright beer and syrup production.

Key Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Stock control and storage of materials and ingredients
  • Accurate record keeping and documentation
  • Maintaining housekeeping and hygiene standards in line with internal and external audits
  • Using site automation systems including SCADA
  • Operating the site LIMS quality control system

Brewhouse

  • Malt handling and milling
  • Operating a complex dual-stream brewhouse
  • Accurate weighing and dosing of hops and other brewing additions
  • Transfer of wort from coppers to fermentation vessels
  • Monitoring fermentation processes
  • Yeast handling
  • Green beer centrifugation and other product transfers
  • CIP (Clean in Place) of brewing equipment

Filtration & Tanker Bay

  • Operation of powder filtration systems
  • Loading and unloading road tankers
  • Handling and transferring bright beer to packaging lines
  • CIP of filters, pipework and bright beer tanks

Syrup Area

  • Accurate stock control and documentation
  • Measuring and preparing syrup ingredients
  • Syrup production and supply to the canning line
  • CIP of syrup production equipment and can fillers

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous food production, beverage, or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Forklift licence desirable (training can be provided on site)
  • Computer literate and comfortable using production systems
  • Able to work shift patterns depending on operational requirements
  • Strong awareness of health & safety standards
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Capable of following procedures while also using initiative and managing time effectively
