About the role and the team
The role will provide administrative support to the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team, (MCA DoLS) enabling the best possible support to be provided to both internal and external customers.
The DoLS Team are a dedicated, small team with a large responsibility. We strive to ensure that the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is implemented correctly and that where a deprivation is occurring, that it is assessed within the DoLS legal framework, and an authorisation granted. The Administrators play a key role in managing the processes within the system and ensuring that documents are sent out within timeframes. They are also usually the first contact for both members of the public enquiring about the service and from care homes wanting information and guidance and as a result they tend to build an outstanding knowledge base concerning the MCA and DoLS. Administrators also link with other teams such as OCC legal Team to ensure that documents are provided in good time where a Court challenge is in place.
