The School of Events, Enterprise and Employability is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join their team as a Course Leader in the Events Enterprise and Employability Department. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of students and preparing them for success. The Course Leader will lead PSHE Tutorials and manage a small team, fostering a positive work environment and driving innovation.
About the Role
The School of Events, Enterprise and Employability offers a wide range of study programmes and apprenticeship opportunities to both 16-18 and 19+ learners who are looking to pursue a career in Events, Marketing, Customer Service and Business sustainability. Our course offers range from Level 1, for learners who may be applying to college with limited previous experience of qualifications through to Level 3 Extended programmes of study which enable students to progress to higher education or supervisory positions within industry. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Course Leader in the Events Enterprise and Employability Department. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our students and preparing them for success.
We are looking for a highly motivated Course Leader - Pastoral within the Events, Enterprise and Employability Department to lead PSHE Tutorials. As a course leader, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive and motivating work environment, driving innovation, and achieving organisational goals. What You Will Do
- Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.
- Maintain high quality and effective delivery across the course team.
- Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
- Deliver and assess essential knowledge, skills, behaviours and understanding to learners.
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans and ensure these are in place for all the course(s) teaching activity.
About You
- Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
- Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
- English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above
- Relevant experience, knowledge and skills to enable delivery of a range of levels across the curriculum, which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
- Experience of positively managing student and group progression, advice and guidance in a school or Further Education setting
- Experience developing creative learning materials for groups of learners
- Ability to develop and deliver strategies to improve retention, achievement, success and attendance rates for groups of learners
- Ability to plan and deliver quality teaching across identified cohorts
- Ability to work as a pro-active and supportive member of a team, with skills to lead in a particular area of the curriculum
- Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their best
