Careers Adviser

The role will be based in Leeds Sixth Form Centre.

This role will be part of the central CEIAG team in Careers, Work Experience & Progression (CWP). CWP supports students through guidance, opportunities, and experience to make informed life choices about their career pathway and destination. The successful candidate will need to be innovative and collaborative in their outlook, with excellent communication skills. In their professional practice they will need to demonstrate experience of student engagement and knowledge and understanding of post 16 education, as well as local, regional, and national LMI.

The successful candidate will need to have experience and understanding of the higher education sector, including higher level apprenticeships. And will be able to support students to select and achieve aspirational destinations through one-to-one guidance, career education sessions/workshops and career events and presentations.

What You Will Do

  • Coordinate, deliver, and support the delivery of advice and guidance, providing flexible help and support for applicants and students on a wide range of careers related issues in individual or group situations
  • Lead on CEIAG for Leeds Sixth Form College (LSFC) across Leeds sites, developing resource and intervention to complement the curriculum offer and aspirational progression routes
  • Provide one-to-one careers information, advice and guidance to students.
  • Produce careers action plans and record information in line with college requirements.
  • Work with the central CWP team to develop, share and curate resources to inform and raise aspirations for the LSFC student cohort and curriculum teams.
  • Collect and record accurate data to ensure all participation is recorded and input on management information systems, including Pro-Monitor and UniFrog.
  • Track the outcomes of interventions and refer to curriculum and pastoral leads to ensure appropriate intervention is put in place for students to support their progression.
  • Collate, analyse and log quantitative and qualitative feedback and data from events and activities to inform future planning and quarterly reports.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent higher-level qualification.
  • Experience of delivering information, advice, and guidance in an education setting.
  • Knowledge of careers education, employability, post-16 study programme, Gatsby Benchmarks and the National Careers Strategy.
  • Experience of recording, monitoring and analysing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • An ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Proven use of a variety of digital platforms and IT software.
  • Ability to source and/or create CEIAG resources.
